“For organizations — from grocery chains to advertising agencies — hoping to remain viable, the litmus test is adaptivity, agility, and innovation. It’s not about bracing for a tidal wave, it’s learning how to surf.”

As a transformation leader, I have always been interested in how new technologies shift consumer expectations, challenge norms, and put pressure on organizations to keep up with trends. The speed at which technology is transforming is astonishing. Just 12 months ago, we were all familiar with organizations, large and small, that had historically rejected the opportunity to make their services available on digital platforms, address pain points across the client lifecycle using technology or even accept digital payments from customers. Those same organizations were forced to pivot almost overnight, in response to a major public health crisis, in order to remain viable.

I recently read an article How Digital Transformations Succeed published in Toptal, which caught my eye. The article is the starting point for understanding digital transformation and creating an effective strategy for the same. The piece delves into what digital transformation is, starting with the right talent, digital transformation trends, success stories, and cautionary tales. Equipped with data, graphs, and well-laid-out thoughts and ideas, this article gives the reader a great insight into digital transformation for companies around the world.
